Oliver grew up in Central Oregon and graduated from Bend High in 1997. He trained as a paramedic at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, and later earned his nursing degree from Central Oregon Community College. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from the University of Southern California.
Beyond his paid work, Oliver also makes time to give back to the communities where he lives and work through various volunteer commitments. When he is not working or volunteering, Oliver enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Amy, have two children, Dean and Sylvia, who attended Silver Rail Elementary prior to transitioning to Bend-La Pine Online during the coronavirus pandemic.
Like Oliver, Amy also works in healthcare and gives back to the community. She is a Nurse Practitioner providing primary care across the life span at a family practice in Redmond.
